Opr. 251 Saturday Sept. 10,1921 Special Work 1. I reported at the mill this morning 615 AM. In #1 mill #3 room I tried to finish fixing my looms so they would run better this morning before starting time. On one loom there was a buckle that interfered with setting the harness right and I ask the loom fixer to take off same. he said have you been fooling with it, I said yes, he said fix it yourself. ([comment:] Lanier!!!) The loom stood a little while before he taken the buckle off. but he didn't set the harness so the selvage would run. and I asked him why he didn't fix some. he only said keep your hands off the loom, and worked on the loom again but didn't do it any good. I said if you can fix looms I don't see why you can't fix that loom. he said if you know so much about it fix it yourself. the said loom stood over one hour before I had time to fix same Opr. 251 Saturday Sept. 10,1921 Special Work while the said loom fixer loafered. ([comment:] See Overseer) The said looms are on #1 section and Gip Leenear is the said fixer The said looms are the first looms I have openly fixed so they would run better since I have been here I am sorry I had to fix same but with a fussy loom fixer and looms running bad there was nothing else to do. About one hour after starting time this morning windows all closed it was 80 wet 84 dry and my work which is 14 SW run very good but later several windows were opened and it was 88 dry 84 wet and my work run very bad but kept the looms going by speeding up.
