Agent #259 Thursday Nov 13-19 Special Work Reported for work at 7AM and worked till 6PM. I wish to cancel as mistake I made in Tuesdays report. I stated that the weavers down stairs on the "bag" loom ran 18, they only ran sixteen. I happened to see 18 and thought all of them did but I learned later that most of the weavers ran 16 looms. The man I promised to tell you his name who said he would like to plant the dynamite under the mill his name is J Walter Staned and he is working a notice to go to the Hillside Mill in La Grange, GA. The loom fixers that I mentioned in the Tuesday report has been spending a lot of time in the waterhouse again today reading his name in Handcock Sec #5. He spent at least 45 minutes in the dressing room reading during work hours to day at one time and I looked over his job and counted four flags up and him reading. One of my looms was out of fix waiting on supplys- supply man brought it, and it was left on lunch for half hour, still reading that don't encourage the weavers any especially when the looms are out of fixers lead as they are down stairs. Same bunch of fixers they have are all amateurs no experts at all. FBCM usually has the best loom fixers, why can't they now there is as many good ones now as ever? Besides section #6 is a good fixer. That's all down stairs, the second hand down stairs does not do anymore than he can get by with. He is the first to get ready to go at stopping time and the last to report at starting time. He is never on hand in the mornings, to help the overseer start up. Since they have passed the [...] for the loom fixers to cut out going to now 30 minutes before stop- ping time. They don't start up any more so Riders the overseer has it to do or have the weavers do it. I had a loom to make a breakout this morning stood for 2 hours. They got it after the breakout had drawn in and Hadcock came and worked on it and he had no more than got bock to work lunch when It made another twice as large as the first stood over 2 hours more and the loom is still out of fix loom #251. half of the looms in the department I am in [...] places. The thin place [...] don't work when they do the weavers start up loom and do pay any attention to it. Why use the fixers at all? Bud Elrod the bootlegger told me at noon that he bought a supply of liquor and one gallon of best half hay rum said he poured it out of course that's untrue he would not have poured it out if he had known it contained half wood alcohol. Ed Nichols has recovered from his injuries in the Wilson Hotel fire, and is doing business at the same old stand. Charlie Emory Barber shop on Carroll street. he is [....] a whiskey peddler. That is the hang out of Ed Connell Ed Nichols and a one eyed guy named Hire and Charlie Emory is the ringleader if the policean thats but [..] worth a darn they would break up that joint.
