2/10/15 #16 Reports to #20 As you are aware of by this time, A.K. Wilson was remanded to jail in default of bond a ssest at $700, and at this time, 12 am Wensday he is still there. Reagan and Mullinax has lain all business a side, in an effort to get him out, but so far they have been un successful even with assistance from Atlanta trades councel. Red Medlock is still in camps but intends to leave to night on a freight train going to Rome or Lindale Ga. Knowing Mullinax and Reagan were in town, I kept Camps in a [....] methods, and the majority are afraid to venture out and while am I am unable to express fully the methods, and efforts herein, but I believe I will be able to make them abandon the demonstration for Saturday. At noon I was with Maud Daniel, J. B. Moore, Tom Mason, and J.C. Ballard, no officer attempted to arrest Moore, but he is to meet me at Turner's Salon 5 pm today. At that time he can be arrested and at the same [...] just what tent Medlock is in, I can talk out if arrested. John Carson has moved back on picket's alley and his girls Mary and Maggie walking the street attempting to decoy boys where the strikers can talk to them, also they intend on keeping boarders for purpose as above stated, need day or open watchmen should keep watch on the house especially at night. 2 boys, filling same [......] given before stayed in Camps last night claimed to be union men all ready were with me at noon, and by in- structions from Mullinax, stoped a foreman (Bob Adams) at noon at Decatur Street and Boulevard, and made a [...] for work, returning to us stating, Adams would recommend him to Mr. Florence and he would get in. they are tough red faced red haired boys about 25 years of age, of medium build and stature one of them also stoped an old man working in the mill named Newman who also so they say would help them get in. Report reached the Camps that Bob Wright was going back in the mill and drop the union, and Wright is being bitterly denounced, should Wright apply, I believe would be best to give him a chance if you can conscientiously do so, and he will comply with your wishes. I will certainly know if he attempts a double cross. I find that very little was known of me McCutcheon in camps and he received the discharge before he and Mullinax, completed this plans. I kept close watch for the man Helt from N.Y. but so for he has not visited this vicinity. Ben Chaffee who has friends in the camps had young John Humphrey cornered for a long time to day on Fair Street, still I don't think he could pull him over. Humphrey is not working this pm either Marutta Wood, Nellie Henderson, or Bolden Ollie Jones, and others whom I will keep watch on this pm I am also keeping close watch on the Bishop and Clark boarding houses but so things are in proper shape. The vicinity is particular quiet at present. J.C. Ballard reported he applied to Mr. Florence for work today stating that he had dropped the Union, Ballard is such a character you can't believe and I doubt his statement but if is true you do not need him in the mill. Confer with Geo Dally and have him issue warrant for J.B. Moore, Palmer will at least convict him for contempt of court. While they are scared and doubtfull of the adviseability of their future demostration, I would advise quick legal action, at [...] opportunity against every one possible. This report is handed in by my wife who has been in doors for 4 months, besides practically unknown in the vicinity, making it absolutely safe. Respectfully, #16.
